Admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2000, Bruce Tarbox began his legal career as a criminal defense lawyer at Rieke & Savage, P.C., where he represented indigent clients in all manner of misdemeanor and felony criminal proceedings. After gaining a wealth of motion and trial experience, Mr. Tarbox opened his own legal practice in 2002, with a focus on defending those accused of traffic crimes.
Since 2002, as the owner of Bruce Tarbox, P.C.. Bruce Tarbox has represented hundreds of clients accused of traffic violations and crimes – including successful defenses at trial of those accused of Manslaughter I, Manslaughter II, Felony Eluding, Theft, Possession/Delivery/Manufacturing Controlled Substances, Assault, Reckless Endangering, Reckless Driving, Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII) and various other crimes arising out of the operation of a motor vehicle.
Mr. Tarbox was the Oregon Delegate to the National College for DUI Defense, Inc. from 2010-2013 (www.ncdd.com), and is a member of both the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (www.nacdl.org) and the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (www.ocdla.org). He enjoys mentoring younger lawyers and consulting with experienced lawyers on their criminal and traffic cases.
A graduate of Brown University (A.B., 1989) and Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College (J.D., 1999), he is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a former river guide/instructor at the Nantahala Outdoor Center in Bryson City, North Carolina. In his free time he enjoys coaching youth soccer, snowboarding, and canoeing and camping with friends and family.
